With several years experience bringing web sites from dreams to reality, we provide solutions utilizing open source technologies to provide the least expensive services to fit the client's needs.
Development & Design coexist hand-in-hand and are built with each other in mind, therefore neither become more important than the other. Once the site plan is laid out during development, design work can begin. From this point both paths communicate and eventually combine for the end result and a satisfied client.
Development
The development process starts with a well laid out plan of how the site will look, taking into consideration any potential design issues and navigation pitfalls. Following the laid out plan, code is written efficiently and effectively allowing for possible later additions to be included with little to no code rewrite. The code is constantly being tested, as it is written and it is pushed to the limit after coding has finish to find in hidden bugs which might exist.
During the whole development process, the client is constantly updated to the current status of the site, and allowing for any minor plan changes or additions.
Design
We specialize in clean, user friendly designs with attention to ease of use so users can find exactly want they are looking for.
Users are accessing the web, most have little time on their hands. When a site downloads in front of them that is visually congested, has poor navigation, too much information, etc. - the 'back' button is used. Many users will find the navigation confusing and difficult to use. Users can be the greatest critics; they don't assume and have a fresh approach with their naivete.
Taking design, with the focus on simplicity and clarity into consideration does much for increasing a web site's traffic and can make its communication a success.
Here are a couple sites we have had the privilege to design & build.
Waiilatpu Pathfinder Club
The Waiilatpu Pathinder club's official web site.
This is a dynamic driven site written primarily in PHP. Users of the site can view pictures, classwork, as well as a directory listing of current club members. Last names and other personal data is restricted in the directory listings to authenticated users. Pathfinders and their parents can keep track of the progress being made with the Pathfinders classwork. Users can leave other users comments, also Counselors can give special messages to their Pathfinders. The Director likewise can give special messages to Counselors and any Pathfinder.
The site can provide the club's latest news and upcoming events, as well as links to useful resources. Most of this site's features are only available once logged-in, and new users can only be created by the club Director or an existing user the Director gives permission to.
James' Water Hole
James' very own personal site.
This was created as a static site, aside from the picture gallery, and uses CSS for the theming with absolutely no use of tables. The left sidebar is an iFrame so that changes can be made to the sidebar page and show on every page.
